Presented by: Katie Connelly, M.S., CCC-SLP, Speech and Language Pathologist/AAC Specialist, Assistive Technology Assessment Center, VC SELPA (ATAC)

Successful use of AAC includes proficiency in four areas of communicative competence.  This workshop will provide instruction in understanding, monitoring and promoting AAC competencies for students with various levels of function and ability.

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify the skills and influencing factors required of students to develop communicative competence using AAC
  • Understand the four levels of AAC communicative competency and how to incorporate them into everyday classroom routines
  • Name the communication partner skills necessary to assist students within each of the AAC competencies

There is no cost for this training, however online registration is required.  This conference will be held via Zoom.  You will receive the Zoom link once your registration is complete and confirmed.
