Presented by: Gail Wilson Lew, M.S., CCC-SLP, ASHA Recognized Fluency Specialist in Stuttering

There are many layers of stuttering which include temperament, genetics, language, oral motor and articulation skills.  Gail, who once was a person who stuttered severely, will share how those layers effect treatment and how to best manage them.  Discussion will follow in how to determine if a child is actually stuttering or having language disfluencies.  We will also explore how bilingualism effects stuttering.  In addition, the International award-winning documentary, “When I Stutter” will be shown.  This documentary features Gail and some of her clients.  She and 18 other individuals share how stuttering has psychologically impacted their lives.  There will be a panel discussion afterward with some of the participants from the movie present to share more details and answer questions.
